Liz Watson, Executive Director
Liz comes to the CPC Center after having served as the Labor Policy Director and Chief Labor Counsel on the House Education and Labor Committee, the Executive Director of the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality, and the Director of the Workplace Justice Program at the National Women’s Law Center. In 2018, she ran for Congress on a labor platform in her home district of IN-09.
Alan Barber, Policy Director
Alan is the former Policy and Communications Director at the Center for Economic Policy Research. Alan brings years of experience translating complex economic policy into a digestible form for policymakers and other audiences. Alan is a past president of his local Nonprofit Professional Employees Union.
Matt Hayward, Director of Legislative Affairs
Matt is the former Legislative Director for Rep. Jan Schakowsky and a former Legislative Assistant for Senator Al Franken. Matt grew up on a llama farm in Minnesota.
Jessica Juarez Scruggs, Communications Director
Jessica Suarez Scruggs joins the CPC Center team after having served as the interim policy and legislative director of People’s Action, and spending more than a decade as an organizer, communicator and policy wonk at a number of other grassroots organizations.
Amber Singh, Office Manager
Amber keeps the CPC Center’s trains running on time. She joins the CPC Center after working for a community-based organization dedicated to serving homeless LGBTQ youth in Washington, D.C.
